Good dang album. Has almost exactly everything I love about his musical capabilities. Great flavor. Great feel. Lovin' it. More progressive, less metal, plenty of Brazilian Folk which I can't get enough of. I'm gonna buy it ASAP, but in the meantime I'm checkin' out the album via TPB. |

I've been a mod @ a vbulletin forum, I'm well aware of the edit button. ... jussayin'. :p This deserved a bump anyway. I'm very surprised that QOTSA and a minor label tribal metal band would trump the topic of a Kisser album in the "other music" forum. Though you guys'd be eating this up. This album has joined the ranks of Opeth's Damnation, Alice In Chains' Jar of Flies and Mad Season in my music collection, as it is perfect for the chill-er times when I could use something that's solid but lower-key... I've had a special affinity for Andreas' style since having an urge to learn Kaiowas when I first heard Chaos AD. I gotta say, it seems that most people that rant about wanting Max to get back together with Sepultura seem to miss the fact that Andreas' guitar playing style dovetails so nicely with Max's singing and guitar work. The feel that is created by their cooperation is something of a phenomenon to me, like a perfect storm. I've imagined more than once what a recording by these guys would sound like now with both of them now being older and wiser; it'd be nice if they put their differences aside and actually did something together just for the sake of the fans, some of whom legitimately dug Sepultura pre-'97 for reasons similar to what I just spoke of. I'm not knocking Soulfly at all (I love the band and their material) but this album by Andreas to me only furthers my want for a someday reunion with the disposal of any hard felings on both sides... simply for teh love of the music. |

rizzo and kisser are guitar legends. both their solo material are the best music there is out there haha. but, this kisser album is mad special. he worked on it for years, and it shows. amazing ecclecticness 2 it. many styles. a lot of his trademarks in his playing 2 me, album of the year along with a-lex. sepultribe all day muthafuckas. |

The same riff used in the begining of Walkman (No Coracao Dos Deuses) is also used in the middle of "Tribe" (Soulfly). Other songs composed when Max still was in Sepultura, but released with Soulfly are: First Commandment and some parts of The Song Remains Insane. Probably there are some other songs or part of songs composed by Max, Andreas, Igor, Paulo after Roots used on "Against", "Soulfly" or "No Coracao Dos Deuses".
