it only lasts a couple of days, until you can't hear for the rest of your life. you'll be the guy with the tenor on your stereo turned way up high and the bass way low because you can't hear the high parts of your music anymore. sounds fun.

ear plugs help your long-term hearing tremendously if you go to a show every week or two.

I also got earplugs because I was sick of getting the ringing everytime.
also, at some shows when the sound technician fucked up and it would sound like crap (eg. you can't hear the vox), you can hear everything crystal clear with plugs. and once you're used to them, they're not uncomfortable.

I suggest getting those:

A little bit expensive ( like 20 Euros) but well worth it!

depends on the quality of the concert...
like soulfly was fucking awesome without ear plugs....

but lots of other bands are indeed better with ear plugs...

I once had to do a security job for a love-parade-ish techno freak show. they gave me those earplugs where you hear absolutely nothing. it's probably the funniest thing to watch pepole do their crazy chicken dances to music you can't hear. hillarious!!

Tinnitus sucks. I hear silent sound when it's quiet around me. I quess that shit came from one death metal gig where I didn't got any plugs with me. I'll always try to wear my Elacin earplugs when I'm watching gigs. With these you can actually hear music properly. Maybe one of the best purchases ever. Cost around 20 euros.

ELACIN ER 20Sr
The ELACIN ER 20Sr is the only conventional hearing protector in our range.
For incidental and short-term use, this standard (ready-made) protector may offer a good solution. Most of these hearing protectors have been designed to attenuate noise as much as possible, at which especially the higher frequencies are attenuated disproportionately. The ELACIN ER 20Sr offers the solution in this, as the higher frequencies are attenuated to the same extent as the lower ones and one can speak of a flat attenuation characteristic. Because of this the audibility and the tone of speech is maintained. The ELACIN ER 20Sr is delivered including packaging, attachment chain and instructions. An ER20 cordr is optional on order.
