this forum has been the constant and one big problem for me running this site. despite many good intentions, this forum has never operated as intended, and it has been constantly overrun by spambots, making it less than enjoyable for everyone to come. i've been wrestling with many possible solutions for quite a while and i have found the one that i think will be the most beneficial for the fans, the band, and myself.

i simply do not have the time nor the skill to personally dedicate to creating a secure forum that will be enjoyable for everyone, and as such, i have decided to eventually move the official forum to http://www.ultimatemetal.com . i was debating between the forums at smnnews.com and ultimatemetal.com and ultimately felt that ultimate metal provided a better community.

he actual forum database will not be able to be transferred (since, thankfully, ultimate metal does not run on phpBB) so anyone who wants to join will have to create a new account with ultimate metal once the forum is ready for the move. also, any moderators that are mods here will be reassigned there if they desire to be. this forum will be monitored and protected by ultimate metal's staff, and as such, the actual members of this forum won't have to spend so much time fighting off spam and can spend more time discussing soulfly and other music. the post popular subforums from this site (soulfly, reviews, other music) will all exist over there as well, but when you'll register, you'll also have access to discuss in all of the other forums that ultimate metal runs. it's quite a huge place for discussion (over 4,000,000 posts so far) and features offtopic chatting and official forums from other acts such as opeth, november's doom, anthrax, and kayo dot, along with many others.

after the forum is prepared and people can start registering, all members here will have one-month to make the choice to switch to the new site (...as opposed to not coming at all..), because i don't really want to surprise anyone who might come here too much. I'll still allow the forum content to be visible on another if you anyone realllly wants me too, but after one month you will not be able to log in here.

i hope this is not toooo disappointing to anyone who has spent the last year and a half building up a huge post count, but it is necessary for the forum to remain beneficial at all. i do not have the time to remain active in administrating the forum on a day-to-day basis and most people who frequent this place don't either. also, with the amount of contact that i've been having with the band lately, i don't think that it's smart for me to discuss many topics with other fans anyway, and as such, i'll moderate the new forum, but you won't see nearly as much of me from this point onward. those who need to get a hold of me will know how, but i am done with band related discussion...til then, adieu, and i'll see you all (or most of you) on the forum at ultimate metal.com

a new sticky topic will be made clearly visible in all of the forums once the new forum is available.

i dont care about posts or smth....i registered here from the begining of forum but i stoped posting for a lot of time....
i started around 2-3 months ago...but i mean...i met good guys and girls here....it wont be the same there..

I prefer to spend hours deleting spam bots post here, but to know that discussions between Soulfly fans (or just admirers) are free and not "monitored and protected" by anybody from the outside...

im pretty sure i can take of the forum if you need to only focus on the site, ive been admin of several phpBB forums already anyways, i just dont think moving is the best solution.

i have not figured out any legimate way to delete/prevent spambots, and it seems that no one else who runs phpBB does either. everywhere i go, (including the sepultura forums, rock sound) etc. has got constant spam posts. the only way to solve this that i know of would be to switch to a more secure forum style, but most often, we'd have to pay for this. this was a offered to us free from ultimatemetal.com (who usually charge an arm and a leg for hosting) so it sounded like an amazing deal to me..

i just know that i am going to have zero time to stay up-to-date with this place. now that an album is being worked on, the site is going to take a lot more of my time, and on top of working 25hours a week and school full time, and family, and my actual life, i can't spend any of it on this forum. i know how fast the soulboard leadership fell apart when kristoff announced his departure, so in essence, this is my backup plan if you guys can't step up to the plate.
