this forum has been the constant and one big problem for me running this site. despite many good intentions, this forum has never operated as intended, and it has been constantly overrun by spambots, making it less than enjoyable for everyone to come. i've been wrestling with many possible solutions for quite a while and i have found the one that i think will be the most beneficial for the fans, the band, and myself.

="BrasilPorrada":ol1fx54x said:That sucks Ryan, i already have an account at ultimatemetal.com and i think their forums are pretty bad actually, everthing is in only one section, overhere we have alot more freedom and are available to talk about more things. at ultimate metal, since soulfly would be like the biggest band they're hosting, we could have as many subforums in the Soulfly forum as we wanted. just off topic discussion would be relegated to their forums (.. and i could even include that as a section is you guys reallly wanted it). people who went to the soulfly forum would barely have to know that they were at ultimate metal if they wanted to, and they could just browse the soulfly forum. smnnews.com offered to run the forum for us for free too, but i chose not to go with them because you can't have subforums and because you can't create a "soulfly" themed page. it's up to you guys though, i have noooooo time to run the forums, and don't want to see them fall apart if i can't come here. i'm just looking for the best solution that will keep the forums active and that will provide a good atmosphere for all soulfly fans...especially you regulars. nothings set in stone but one of their guys is working on putting together the forum and subforums now. if someone steps up soon, i can probably keep it active here instead... but i really don't think that much of anything would change from this forum to the one that would be hosted by ultimate metal.. don't think of this as sadness, just think of it as change. i've been running this site 100% by myself for almost 8 years now.. that's alot of time, and i need a break, and if this place is going to stay intact, it would take some RESPONSIBLE help from all of you guys. i have not figured out any legimate way to delete/prevent spambots, and it seems that no one else who runs phpBB does either. everywhere i go, (including the sepultura forums, rock sound) etc. has got constant spam posts. the only way to solve this that i know of would be to switch to a more secure forum style, but most often, we'd have to pay for this. this was a offered to us free from ultimatemetal.com (who usually charge an arm and a leg for hosting) so it sounded like an amazing deal to me..
