Max Cavalera (SOULFLY, CAVALERA CONSPIRACY, SEPULTURA) was a featured guest on the September 19, 2009 edition of "The Classic Metal Show". The chat is now available for streaming using the audio player below.

When asked if he thinks SEPULTURA's reputation is being tarnished by the band's current lineup - which doesn't include Max or his brother, Igor (drums) - Max said, "Well, it's not really up to me to say that. I think I left it up to the fans to decide, and I think they are showing their feelings, because I don't think SEPULTURA is doing all that good these days. There's no original members [left], and it's just kind of hard to believe in a band like that, because everybody that was in it originally has left. But what can I say?! I'm pleased with what I'm doing. Playing with Igor [in CAVALERA CONSPIRACY] is great, and the way SOULFLY is coming together is great, so I just keep doing my thing."

"The Classic Metal Show" can be heard every Saturday night between 9:00 p.m. EST and 3:00 a.m. EST at www.cmsradio.net.

In a recent interview with Fangoria.com, Max was asked baout the songwriting process for the next SOULFLY album. "[It's coming along] little by little. Right now we're just getting some of the ideas together with some of the songs I composed while on tour over the past two years. We've got bits and pieces, lot's of riffs and things, but we'll begin seriously working on it at the beginning of November when we get off the road. We'll get right into the studio and start recording . . . Recording will be November and December, so [the release] should be the beginning of next year. That's about how long it'll take to get the mixing, mastering, and artwork done. We're recording in California this time, and it will be mixed in England. Once all the parts are in place we'll set a release date. It's still a little bit of time."

Regarding whether there will be a second CAVALERA CONSPIRACY album, Max said, "I don't have any plans right now, but maybe later on. I did some shows with that and they were awesome. We did some shows in Europe and Japan with really great crowd reaction. They were really into the album and they know it a lot more now. The way the CAVALERA operates is that we do some shows here and there - not often but for special occasions. We like to keep it like that, and it's cool to get together with Igor [CAVALERA CONSPIRACY/ex-SEPULTURA drummer] for awhile and then get right back to SOULFLY."

wrong

what's "=/="?

Bestial Devastation's (1985) the first record, so, it's a band's "beginning" - Max-Igor-Jairo-Paulo = original line-up
And... Paulo's still in the band! I think it's doesn't matter if Max and Igor played on pans an dishes with another guys in their mom's kitchen in 1982... lol

I really have ot agree with MetalLawyer on this one. If you ask me, the original line up is the line up that recorded the first studio album together and that's it. Everything before that is just a process of band formation.

Andreas on Blabbermouth.ne

"SEPULTURA's KISSER Says There Are No Plans For Reunion With CAVALERA Brothers - Oct. 6, 2009
SEPULTURA guitarist Andreas Kisser has once again denied that the band is considering a reunion of its classic lineup - despite the fact that fans are still clamoring for vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera and former drummer Igor Cavalera to make their return.

"Two years ago, people were pressuring us for a reunion, since it was the age of reunions - from THE POLICE to ANTHRAX," Kisser told Noisecreep. "So I think people felt we might be ready to do something like that also. That is not the case. We are focused on what we are doing. We have a new drummer, and we recorded the album with him for first time. And we are in a great moment and the intention is build for the future and not be slaves to the past."

Kisser, however, stopped short of completely ruling out a reunion with the Cavalera brothers at some point in the future, stating, "You never know. This stuff can happen sooner or later. Who knows? Maybe never? Let's see. We're focusing on what we do right now."

In a September 2009 interview with "The Classic Metal Show", Max Cavalera was asked if he thought SEPULTURA's reputation was being tarnished by the band's current lineup. "Well, it's not really up to me to say that," Max replied. "I think I left it up to the fans to decide, and I think they are showing their feelings, because I don't think SEPULTURA is doing all that good these days.
