So what is the general consensus on Omen?

I like it, but I'm not really amazed by it like I was with Dark Ages or Prophecy.
The Led Zeppelin cover is interesting and Rizzo's guitar playing really complements the Soulfly sound. I've probably listened to it about 20 times since it was released and to be honest I don't find any of the songs too memorable.

It is a good thrash album, fast, raw, but without typical Soulfly vibe ... ok, Max has an interview at Metalcamp and he said that the next Soulfly album will include elements of "world wide music", so we can expect "realSoulfly album.
I hope this one was just a journey back to the thrash roots, which is somehow already indicated Conquer.

Omen a fuckin bangin album and is True Metal masterpiece! Each song is brutal as fuck! Altho Off With Their Heads, Great Depression and Counter Sabotage all SOUND LIKE CAVALERA CONSPIRACY!!!
Best songs are Bloodbath and Beyond, Jeffrey Dahmer and Mega-Doom - Great Depression used to be my fav but listend to it too much
altho its a bangin album Soulfly need to back to their ROOTS!

[ontopic] Omen is pretty cool, but as Max announced for the next one....., cant wait for some more tribal sounding album.

maybe we'll see some more posts as Soulfly starts their U.S. tour. Going to see Dimmu Borgir and Enslaved on the 30th. I would much rather see Soulfly.
