Hopefully Max and Gloria will figure out soon that they are getting no support from their label and finance the next Cavalera or Soulfly record on their own or on a label that actually supports them and promotes their music. It is bullshit that nobody even knows about Soulfly and/or Cavalera Conspiracy. These guys need a label and/or a marketing company that actually believes in them and understands them. I have been in the music biz for over 13 years and believe me i know the deal. Fuck roadrunner!

I work with the band Cold. We toured with Soulfly in 1998 in England. Been a fan ever since. Max is an amazing human being and a metal legend and there is no reason he should be recognized as anything less

i just want to comment on a couple of things...

o begin with, I don't understand what you mean saying that no one knows Soulfly.. they are easily one of the most popular "extreme" metal bands that I'm aware of..

here is a lot to be respected about the 20+ year relationship that Max has had with Roadrunner. Despite your opinions that Max isn't getting any support, I would argue that he's getting just as much promotion as he would if he were on a label such as metal blade or century media (and especially if he were on a bigger major label). max has more control over the way his records get recorded and promoted than most artists on the label, and for this i think he's really thankful...

..you must realize, Soulfly is selling way more albums now than they did during the Dark Ages release - even during a time when the music industry is in MAJOR decline. that's a pretty big feat, and part of it is thanks to Roadrunner! And according to gloria, the shows on this u.s. tour were the best grossing shows since 2001 or 2002.

And how is it Roadrunner's responsibility to turn Max into a legend?! to me, it seems that that is the job of the press and his fans, you know? plus, i would say that RR is doing their best to make sure Max has one of the most prestigious places in the history of their label (considering there's more Max cavalera written songs than any others on the forthcoming Roadrunner United DVD release...)

he one thing i would hope to see from the label in the future is a push to get some Soulfly songs on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but then again, the game manufacturers might consider Max's lyrical content a little to extreme for their "family" video games.

AND Christian, what do you mean "a veeeery important moment for the relation with the label was when RR decided to "sell" After the Slaughter (Inflikted) 4-track demo"???? Soulfly wasn't signed to a deal when this was released. He just resigned with Roadrunner in June 2007. the "inflikted" demo track was released exclusively through our websites and Roadrunner had nothing whatsoever to do with the release!

They are a business, obviously they are gonna push whats gonna make them more money.

you made a very good and true point...just like ryan

i don't want Soulfly to be very popular band like trivium or slipknot... for me, it's not a "real" metal band that popular like a fucking pop band (rammstein, slipknot, system of a down for example). the real metal band is always to be in "underground"...

I wouldn't care if they played Soulfly hourly on the MTV, as long as the fanbase didn't turn into 15-year-old emo hipsters.

I 100% agree with Ryan. Besides, Soulfly ain't a mainstream band. They'll never be as popular as you guys want 'em to be. Sorry. And Max already is a metal legend, but people who are not into metal don't care about that. Do you guys give a shit about some rap/hip-hop legends? I'm aiming at people who have no interest in hip-hop here.
