I can't handle watching this guy literally try to act and sound just like Phil Anselmo. Watching him on stage makes me sick. He must look into the mirror every day and hire a choreographer to help him move just like Phil Anselmo on stage.

This guy has an identity crises. I bet Phil Anselmo must just watch this guy and laugh his ass off. I have never seen any singer try so hard to pretend he is someone else.... and be serious about it.

But there will only be 1 Phil Anselmo and 1 Pantera. Throwdown is a joke and a blatent rip off of Pantera. Im tired of these guys opening for Max.

If I want to see Phil Anselmo I will go see Down

Maybe because the dude is on the Soulfly album so it has to do with Soulfly. Hopefully you didn't get too upset. Take a deep breath and everything will be OK. I promise!

You make it sound like that is not the case. But believe me Dave tries his hardest to not only sound like Phil but to do the exact same stage moves and look like him. Its seriously ridiculous.

I grew up on Pantera. Cowboys from Hell I bought when I was a Junior in High School and then of course Vulgar and everything followed.

I just saw Throwdown open for Cavalera and the singer Dave we all just sat there and laughed watching him try so hard to wish he was Phil Anselmo of 1994.

Their new album in particular is a total Pantera rip off. The guitar parts are even trying too hard to TRY and sound like dimebag

This song has almost the exact same pre chorus as RISE by pantera. And the guitar sounds like just about every DIMEBAG riff

What ever though I dont care that they TRY to sound like Pantera thats fine. But when you go on stage and literally try to imitate every move Phil Anselmo does its just pathetic

Who cares, you prolly only just heard of Throwdown cos of Soulfly. Granted the newest album is very Panteraish, but "Haymaker" is a great album, where "Dave Peters" aggression is great. You Should go back to listen to Throwdown early shit in 1998, alot different direction. More Hardcore, like Soulfly, after years of doing the same shit, bands like to change things up.

Its not like Phil Anselmo was mister original, the guy just ripped off "Kyle Thomas" from Exhorder, and got all the recognition.

I have no problem with Dave Peters trying to SOUND like Phil. Thats fine what ever. Im sure Phil is one of his biggest idols. Almost every vocalist out there in a 'hardcore' band tries to sound like Phil. However the way he dresses and acts on stage is IDENTICAL to what Phil does. It is one thing to try and sound like someone but when you take it to the next level and literally copy his eveyr move and try to LOOK like him too. That is just rediculous.

When i was watching Throwdown play live I was just waiting for Dave Peters to say "We are the kings of metal, we are pantera, smoke fuckin dope"

I think bands like Trivium are garbage and yes they TRY to rip of old Metallica but it will never work.

At least bands like ShadowsFall who sound like Metallica do it their own way and don't try to purposesly look and sound like Metallica.

Early Throwdown stuff is nothing like Pantera, it's just straight edge hardcore and nothing else. This new album, Venom & Tears does indeed have that Pantera vibe and it is kinda anoying at times but I still like 'em.
