For home use, one of the following:

* Roland Cube 15 or 30
* Line6 SpiderII 15 or 30
* Vox AD15VT or AD30VT

Versatility, good sound, enough power, ... those have it all!

think about if you want to buy one for homeuse and then a few years later one to play in a band. of if you want to buy one for both things...

I suggest buying both a 'bedroom amp' and a 'band amp' eventually. I only have one amp now, a Framus Dragon 100W 3/4 stack and it's just too big for playing at home. A small practise amp always comes in handy.

You play a Spider right? I used one of those for a while in the rehearsal room. And I can say it's not nearly as loud as my Dragon. The speakers have lower sensitivity and the preamps don't give as much pressure. Fine amp for the cash and usable for bedroom playing. The Dragon however just is too loud. But nothing earplugs can't fix ...

Well, it's certainly not the best. But it's a good versatile amp that can be used for rehearsal and home use.
